Where we are
The village of Agios Ioannis is located in the Prefecture of Magnesia, on the eastern side of Pelion, the mountain that according to the Greek mythology was the homeland of Centaurs and the summer residence of Olympian Gods.
It is only 60 km far from the city of Volos, the capital of the Prefecture, and it is about one of the most cosmopolitan villages of Pelion with a plethora of hotels, guesthouses, apartments, restaurants and entertainment places, satisfying the desires of visitors in the best possible way.
Pelion combines in one picture the endless blue of the Aegean Sea with the bright green vegetation of the mountain, which leads to the golden sand of the beach of the village. On the right or the left side of the village, there are beaches, quiet or crowded, organized or not, sandy or pebbly, which are accessible to visitors within a 10 minute walking (Beaches of Plaka and Papa Nero). The rental of boats, sea bikes, canoes or crafts is available in order to organize an excursion even to Sporades Islands, such as Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnisos.
There are a lot of sights and places that a tourist can visit, with a short distance between them, and it would be a pity not to seize the opportunity to tour all these beautiful places, which combine mountain and sea (Beach of Mylopotamos, Fakistra, Ntamouchari, where the movie Mamma Mia was filmed). The nature embraces the village from one side to the other and surrounds it with wonderful colors and scents.
Through the road network, the visitor is given the possibility to have access to the rest 70 beautiful and picturesque villages of Pelion that are characterized by the traditional architecture of the region.
Pelion is an exquisite place throughout the year and is recommended for any kind of classic and alternative tourism activities. It is the ideal destination for holidays, relaxation, adventure and excitement…
